The Gold Double Goddess
These double female images were made about 6300 BCE in an area of Turkey rumored to be the home of the legendary Amazons. Made of hammered gold, pairs like this were found in the grace of a high-statue woman thought to be a shaman. In the puzzling tradition of double figures, one is slightly smaller than the other, leading some researchers to call them Mother-Daughter pairs. Measures 3.5 inches around. Prices: |
