The Moon-Seed Goddess Figure

This small Neolithic goddess figure was carved from bone in northern Ital, about 7000 years ago. She wears the shape of the crescent moon as a necklace, and her fertile body is decorated with a seed and a growing plant or tree. Her short arms may be bent at the elbow, or may represent folded wings.

Measures 4.5 inches tall.
